All 2018 Year 10 students from Balmain and Leichhardt Campus are offered a place at the senior campus. The college has devised an extensive transition program which involves all students. All students and parents should note the following important dates during Term 2 and 3:
Week 2 and 3 2018: what's at the Bay
Senior Executive and Year 11 students visit Balmain and Leichhardt Campuses to introduce them to major transition events and to provide information on VET subjects available at the senior campus
Monday 28 May to 22 June 2018: A day at Blackwattle Bay- on application
All Year 10 students at Balmain and Leichhardt are invited to spend a day at Blackwattle Bay Campus attending courses they may want to include as part of their subject selection in 2019. Application forms available form Ms Bury(Leichhardt) or Mr Catalanotto (Balmain).
Thursday 28 June - subject information night at Blackwattle Bay Campus
All students and their parents/carers are invited. Students will receive their information package and parents and students can participate in faculty tours, discuss with Head Teachers and Teachers delivering Stage 6 Courses and and listen to students speaking about the senior campus. There will be a BBQ and coffee cart available. 4.30-7.30pm with the formal presentation at 6.30pm.
HSC Marketplace - Wednesday 1 August at Balmain Campus and Wednesday 8 August 2018 at Leichhardt Campus
The marketplace offers students the opportunity to ask questions about various HSC subjects and to find out a little more about the wide range of subjects offered. Each faculty station, which will be staffed by teachers from Blackwattle Bay and the student's home campus, may demonstrate student samples of work, expectations for each Course, Course Outcomes and general expectations for Stage 6 studies.
Student interview week 13-15 August Balmain Campus and 20-22 August Leichhardt Campus
All students will have an individual interview. Parents are invited to attend. The College interview team, comprising curriculum specialists from Blackwattle Bay and Year Advisers from the home campus, will advise students on course requirements, pre-requisites and suitability of courses to meet the individual student's learning needs.
Parents who wish to accompany the students to the interview but, who are unable to attend during the day can make an appointment between 5pm and 7.30pm on the Tuesday of the interview week. (Balmain Campus Library 14 August and Leichhardt Campus Library 21 August ).
Letter of confirmation
All students will receive a letter of confirmation regarding their subjects for Year 11 on 22 October 2018.
Taste of Blackwattle Bay Campus 27-30 November 2018
All students are expected to attend for the four days and follow their 2019 timetable. Taste of Blackwattle Bay is an opportunity for students to meet their teachers, mentors and the other students enrolling in Year 11 in 2019.
